MENTAL HEALTH EDUCATION

The Outcome

Delivery of a bespoke mental health training programme for an organisations’s employees in 66 countries, which was completed by more than 20,000 employees within six months.

The Requirement

To create, from scratch, mental health training that was suitable for leaders, managers and employees across the globe, for delivery within six months.

Challenges

  • Overcoming different cultural attitudes towards mental health problems

  • Creating a compelling reason for employees to commit time to non-mandatory training

  • Pitching the content at an appropriate level for a broad demographic of employees

  • Getting leadership buy-in to a historically overlooked narrative

Methodology

We partnered with mental health professionals to ensure that all learning content was correct, current and appropriate.

We piloted the learning in seven countries and gathered comprehensive feedback on content, delivery, style and learning modalities. We made changes and improvements.

We partnered with colleagues in each region to ensure that translations were culturally correct.

We used senior leaders to role model and champion the training.

We built a 30-minute e-learning solution and a 3-hour face-to-face solution.
